Ford Interior Design
Technology has made almost everything easier, unless you are an interior car designer. Cramming every piece of technology into a stylish, accessible, easy to understand interior is no easy feat. Think about everything that drivers want and need at their fingertips. Aside from the standard gauges and radio dials, cars today are equipped with Bluetooth, satellite radio, navigation, multidisc CD changers, auxiliary input jacks, flash drive and SD card inserts, rearview cameras, and dozens more.
Ford has been hard at work perfecting the SYNC system. SYNC was launched in the fall of 2007 and has been a user favorite ever since. The whole idea behind SYNC is less is more. The system integrates everything drivers want from their cars and on top of making it look nice, Ford made it one of the most user-friendly, voice activated systems in the industry.
Already installed in over three million Ford vehicles and 12 of the current Ford models, SYNC continues to add new features to every upgrade, from 911 Assist to Vehicle Health Report to AppLink. The SYNC system also gives users access to turn-by-turn directions, hand-free calling, real-time traffic alerts, personalized daily information, and audible text messages.
SYNC with MyFord Touch takes everything to the next level. This system provides all the benefits of the standard SYNC system but also give users much more flexibility in how their instrument panel looks. SYNC with MyFord Touch lets drivers decide which gauges they want to see next to the speedometer. You can have fuel information, a tachometer, engine temperature gauges or all three. SYNC with MyFord Touch also lets drivers pick a color, and the intensity of that color, for ambient lighting, so you can choose the perfect color for any mood.
One of the most notable features of the SYNC system is the voice activation. With the push of the button, on your steering wheel, drivers can access any of the applications in their car. Drivers can tell SYNC to play a certain song or artist, or to show traffic problems on their commute home.
But while all this technology is great, drivers won't want it if it ruins the overall look of the interior. Drivers aren't looking for a million buttons, or on the flip-side, having too few buttons that all have multiple functions, which can get confusing. Driver's want everything streamlined and presentable, all while being intuitive and easy to use. Ford designers really took these issues and ran with them, designing the whole interior around the SYNC system. The result is one of the industry's most beautiful and technologically advanced interiors, even rivaling premium brands like BMWs critically acclaimed interior and technology.
SYNC gives drivers everything they could ever want or need, all wrapped in a beautiful package that could make luxury car owners jealous.
